Ready for Fall

I am so ready for fall.  Why?  Football games, fall, Halloween, Parker's birthday, but most of all, COMFORTABLE WEATHER!!!!!  I am so sick of 100+ degree days.  It is so frustrating.  You can't go anywhere!!  So, I am counting down the days till fall.  Anyhow, Parker starts school on September 8th.  He has a meet the teacher/orientation day on August 30 or 31st.  He also starts soccer and kindermusik in Septemeber.  We are going to be very busy soon.  I have been monogramming some things and even selling a few things on Etsy.  I am only selling one thing at a time so that I do not get backed up with orders.  It is kind of fun.  Renee's birthday is tom and I have made her several things.  Here are some pictures and hopefully she does not see this until tom!!  Also, if you click on the pictures you can see it full size and up close.
Pot holder, 2 dish towels, and an oven mitt.  They are all lime green but the picture makes it look almost yellow.
My camera is way messed up....oh well.  The picture above is an apron with her intials in Curlz Font and is also in lime green NOT yellow.  Looks way better in person.
This is a towel wrap is in Curlz Font.  Its purple with white thread.
This is my favorite of all!!!!!!  A pair of pajamas with a 3 letter monogram font on the shirt and shorts.  Its hard to see the monogram on the shorts in this picture.

Accutane update

I have officially been on my third course of Accutane for a little over 3 weeks.  So far, I have experienced the initial breakout.  I think I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel(knock on wood).  This was the worst breakout I have had in several years.  I think I am past the worst so we will see how the next few weeks go.  If the past repeats itself, then I should be pretty much cleared up in the next month of month and a half.  The only side effects so far are EXTREMELY dry lips, eczema patches on my arm, and my face and scalp have been itiching pretty bad.  I am going to try some medicated shampoo for the itching.  I never had this problem before.  I am already able to go a few days without my hair looking dirty.  That is the one thing I LOVE  about this drug.  It dries up all of your oil glands so you can go a LONG time without having to wash your hair.  It sounds gross but it is acctually recommended that you do not wash your hair every day and for someone who has long hair, it is really a good thing.  I just hope it does not fall out ;-)  KNOCK ON WOOD

Our House progress

When Parker went to Michigan, we began stripping down the popcorn ceilings downstairs and in the living room.  As of today, we have the living room done!!  They look great...Will did a wonderful job!!  Will is currently working on the living room and we hope to have them done by the end of the week.  Here are some before and after pictures.
Above picture is the living room BEFORE we took the ceilings down.  The ugly fan is going and will be replaced with one of the big leaf blade fans.

Picture above is DURING the ceiling removal process.  It already looked way better than having the popcorn texture.

Here is the AFTER picture...its hard to tell but the hole in the mniddle of the ceiling is where the fan/light fixture will be and the other dark spot is the air vent.  It looks so good!!!!!

Here is a picture of the living room after we took down the popcorn texture.  We are working on painting right now.

We also got a new back door this week!!!  The old rotted one is gone and we have a beautiful new one.  Will post pictures of that when it is completely done.

George-Jackson Showboat

A few weeks ago, we stayed in Nashville on our way back from picking Parker up in Louisville.  He stayed with Memaw, Papa, Aint Marna, and OStevo for the week.  We went on the George-Jackson Showboat.  It was a lot of fun but I would never take a child on it again.  The ride lasted three hours and we had dinner on it.  The last hour of the ride was a show.  There were several singers who sang different songs and mocked the different country singers throughout the different decades.  Here are some pictures from the showboat.

This was some random old man on the boat who the girl singers were singing too.  He has a huge red kiss on his forehead.

Parker being himself.

Will and Parker.

This picture did not turn out very well but the girl in the center was Parker's favorite.  He definitely had a thing for her.

Tuckers Manhood and other pictures

Yesterday, Tucker lost his manhood (neutered).  He has thrown up ALL over our house and just looks like he does not feel good.  I feel so bad for him.  I am hoping he will be better in a few days.  Last night he was so out of it that you could have shot him and he would not have moved.  I guess his body must be pretty sensitive to all the drugs and pain medicines they gave him.

Here are some new pictures that I hve been meaning to post.

Above picture is from last week at Stacey and Andrews pool.

This picture is from when I took Parker and Emma toy shopping with Em's piggy bank money(Thanks Emma & "Mz Neh"!!!)
This was our recreation of the foam pit(at the zoo) in the bath tub.

Parker and Emma in the actual foam pit at the zoo.

Memaws visit and Will's Birthday.
Our little trip to Nashville and we saw Elvis!!!

On our  Nashville trip, we went on the Jackson Showboat.  It was a lot of fun but I would not recommend bringing kids.

Will and the Tacky Tourist(Parker) on the boat.

BAD DOG & Update

We have one BAD little puppy living in our house!!!!  I am not sure where in the world he came from??  Or, what took over his little doggie body???  He has manifested into a little devil doggie.  To date, Tucker has chewed up my cell phone charger, my camera cord connector, and I noticed he has already started chewing on my laptop power cord.  Luckily, he did not chew through the entire thing and it still works.  I would probably kill him if he had succeeded in doing that.  I would also like to add dirty diapers, wipes, toilet paper(his favorite), empty drink bottles, and any kind of paper product he can come across, to the list.  His favorite thing to do now, besides chewing up paper, is to get a shoe and flip it around in circles.  Its pretty funny but VERY annoying after a while.  He will do this for like an hour straight (literally) if you do not stop him or take the shoe away.  He also has 4 girlfriends (his bed, and 3 stuffed animals).  It is definitely time to take his manhood away from him.  Hopefully, within the next week or two, I will be able to get him fixed.  I am praying this will calm him down but I have a feeling it will not effect him in any way.
Paker invitied Emma to spend the night on Friday.  We took them on their "dinner date" to PF Changs.  They experienced chop sticks for the first time and did pretty well using them.  Then we took them to get Yogurt and to rent a movie.  We rented Jack and the Beinstalk.  Then I made them a huge bed on the floor and they slept there.  They had a great time.  On Saturday, Emma stayed over until about 2 and then Parker's new buds(Charlie and Major) came down.  They spent the night on Saturday night.  Will took them swimming and then I took them to see the new, Despicable Me, movie.  I thought the movie was ok.  Charlie fell asleep but Parker and Major sure enjoyed it.  They had such a great time at the sleepover.  Needless to say, I was EXHAUSTED by Sunday, and still am.  We are so glad that they moved into our neighborhood because now Parker has someone to play with.  They are about the only kids in our neighborhood who are his age.
Today we are getting our back door fixed, FINALLY!!!!  It has taken forever and then we should be able to finish up with the floors.  I hope and pray that after all of this work that our house will start to feel more like a home, rather than a college apartment.  We also took down the popcorn ceilings in the living room and dining room while Parker was in Michigan.  They look SO much better now.  I hate that stuff.  I believe the technical term is "acoustical ceilings"...I do not understand why ANYONE would want those in their house.  It dates the house and makes the rooms look so much smaller.  Everything is slowly coming along.  We knew it would take some time but sometimes I just wish we had bought a house that was already move-in-ready.
Well, I think that is about all for now.  Hopefully I will have a camera cord by the end of the week and I will be able to upload some new pictures.

"Uncle Paul" comes to visit and new embroidery projects

Last night, "Uncle Paul" came and stayed with us.  Will and him went to an engagement party for Daron and Sarah.  I stayed home with Parker and made him a new shirt.  I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with the entire embroidering thing.  It turns out that I was not stabalizing my projects correctly and this is why they never turned out very good.  I have that under control now and my projects are turning out great!  It has really become addicting.  It has also become very expensive to learn how to use this machine.  I have wasted so much money trying to figure it out and all it took was about 15 minutes in the fabric store, talking to a random person who embroiders, and now I know how to do it correctly. The manual that comes with the machine is not detailed at all and they just assume you already know how to use it.  There are so many little tricks to making a perfectly embroidered object.  Any how, here is a picture of the shirt I made for Parker and another one I made for a friend.

We're off to see the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz...

Because, because, because, because, because...Because of the wonderful things he does!!!!!  I used to love that movie.  Anyhow, I thought I would share our new family member, Dorothy, with ya'll =)

Tucker LOVES to dress up, if you haven't already noticed....this will be his Halloween Costume, if it still fits him by then.

Happy, Happy, Birthday it is your special day...

Tonight we went to Amanda and Wills family birthday party.  We combined the two because we have 4 birthdays in a row starting with mine on June 26, followed by Andrews July 1, then Amandas July 10, and finally Wills July 15.  It gets to be a little too much family time by the end of all the birthdays so this year we combined Amandas and Wills.  I think next year we should combine all four into one day.  Any how, Parker had a lot of fun with Alyssa.  He is starting to like playing with her more than Andrew which is a good thing because she is much closer in age to him and has better manners.  Here are some party pictures...

The one on the left was my sisters cake and the one on the right was Wills cake.  Wills cake had fish on it. These cakes were from Whole Foods and they are the best cakes you will ever eat.

Here is the birthday boy...big 26!  Getting old!

My sister, Brandon, Carol(Brandons mom) and Alyssa.  Alyssa did all of the candle blowing.  Amanda turned 33, I think?

Our sweet boy who is not very photogenic.

And this one was not any better...

Wake up call

This morning at 7:30 AM, as I was sleeping peacefully, Parker came into my room like he ALWAYS does and was talking to me.  I thought it was going to be the same ole same ole, "Moggy wake up," type of thing.  This time was different though.  Parker said to me, "Moggy LOOK WHO IS HERE!!!"...so I rolled over and opened my eyes to see 3 little boys staring at me.  The first little boy said, "I sure like your room!!!"  The other one said , "Parker let us inside!!!!"  I could not believe my eyes.  Luckily their mother came and got them literally about 2 min later.  She said they had snuck out while she was getting ready.  I think we will be seeing a LOT of these little boys.  I am so glad Parker has made some new friends but I sure hope I do not get woken up to that every morning.

I am so tired of cleaning up after dogs and ...

I have had it with the dog!!!  He gets the toliet paper out of the bathrooms EVERYTIME I replace the bins with new toliet paper.  This is what I get to clean up after he sneaks around and shreds it to a million pieces.........................

Underwear bandit

I went down stairs this morning and found this in our living room.....

Tucker had taken about 4 pairs of my underwear and numerous bras downstairs with him.  I am not sure where he got them from?!?!  They were all clean and I believe he stole them from my clean laundry pile but I am not sure how he was able to get to them.  When I caught him, he ran under the couch and hid!  You can see a small glimpse of one pair that he had stashed under the couch.  He reminds me of the underwear bandit that robbed all the banks a while back with his head covered in womens underwear.

Remember this guy.....

To top it all off, I found Parker and Tucker playing "frisbee" with all of the new dvd's that we had rented from the Library on Tuesday.  Boys will be boys.

Here is a picture of Parker after I caught them playing, with dvd's in hand....

More pictures

I am still learning how to blog...I couldn't get all my pictures on the last post so here are some more.......

This was Parkers very first day of Sports Camp.  I took this before we left.  He was so excited about going!!
All the kids and Parker at Sports Camp.  There were about 30 kids all 3-4 years old.

Fat Smash Diet, Sports Camp, and more

Last week, Parker went to Sports Camp.  It was a week long and he went for 2 hours every day.  He loved it the first 3 days and then when Thursday rolled around he started crying because he did not want to go.  I made him go and he started crying while he was out on the field so I ended up leaving and he stopped.  I think the whole idea of me sitting there made him a little shy.  He was also pretty tired from not sleeping well the night before.  He did the same thing on Friday but was fine after I left.

Last Friday, Parker went on his first sleep over EVER to Emma's house.  Renee said that he was great and that they had a fun time.  He did not want to go at first but she talked him into it by telling him they could "camp out" (downstairs of course).  There are not many 3 year old boys who get to have their first sleepover with their girlfriend.  Will and I really enjoyed the night away from him.  It is nice to get away sometimes.  We went to eat dinner at Outback Steakhouse (Thanks Mimi).  It was great.  My birthday was on Saturday (the Big 26).  I cannot believe I am 26 years old.  I feel so old.  Which brings me to my next point....I started on the Fat Smash Diet.  This is a diet that my Dad has done forever and it really works and is VERY healthy for you.  Today marks the end of day 3 and I have already lost 4 lbs. I am getting used to the diet and it is really not that hard to do especially compared to Atkins.  I eat all the fruits and vegetables I want for the first phase...no limit.  I can also have 2 cups fat free milk, 2 cups brown rice, 2 cups oatmeal, and 12 oz. yoguart per day.  I exercise for 30 mins a day.  I am starting to feel so much better and have no cravings for junk food.

We went for an evening walk tonight and it was very pretty out.  Parker has this new thing he likes to do where he puts the dog leash on his scooter and Tucker pulls him.  Its pretty funny to watch.  That is about all I have for now.

SO HOT!!!!

Today the temperature was a steamy 98 degrees with 110% humdity!  It has been super hot this summer!  We went from winter straight into summer.  There was absolutely no spring for us.  I cannot wait for fall to arrive. I spent an entire day trying to fix my tension on the embroidery machine.  I am still having problems with it.  I believe I am going to have to buy a tension gauge because I have no idea what I am doing.  Will and Parker went swimming today at the pool.  Parker was so excited to go!  Tom I have to watch Emma and Ethan but we are also supposed to go to Mandy's house for Father's Day. Also, I forgot to mention that I will be starting a 3rd round of Accutane for my acne.  I do not have bad acne but I have VERY, VERY, VERY treatment resistant acne.  I sure hope Parker does not get it when he is older because it sucks!!!  I am SO tired of dealing with Acne.  I cannot tell you how much money and time I have spent on dealing with acne.  I wish someone would come up with a cure for it.  You would not believe all of the regualtions that this drug has.  I have to have 2 negative pregnancy tests, counseling from the doctor, private questions, etc, etc, before I am allowed to get on it.  This drug is a miracle for me and it is the only thing that will keep me clear.  I would rather suffer all the side effects from it (I have never had any really besides dry skin, eczema, and dry lips) than have to deal with acne any longer.  I should be done with the course and clear by Christmas time!!

House progress

This is going to be a quick post because I am extremely tired but I wanted to post some pictures of our new house.  We have been working and working to get it looking good and its just going to be a SLOW process.  Here are some pictures of our new bedroom.  I am still not done with the room but this is what I have so far.

I did everything you see in this room....Papa helped paint but other than that it was all me...I installed the canopy, made the drapes, and installed the chandelier.  Its pretty sad when your more handy than your husband. I guess that is what happens when you grow up around a handyman (my dad).  So, if you need any electrical work done to your house or maybe a few light fixtures installed, call me haha ;-)

This is our guest room and it is coming along.  Still have a TON to do in here but I am loving it.  It looks way better in person.  I made the drapes from Vera Bradley Imperial Toile Fabric I ordered from Hong Kong, painted the nightstand white, made a throw pillow out of the Imperial Toile lining fabric.  I am going to find something cute to hang above the bed.  The rest of this room is my sewing stuff.
